Renovations to the former Chancellor’s Residence, a +/- 6,000 SF two-story
brick residence with basement and a 15,000 SF two-story addition with basement to create an art museum.
Renovation allotted museum staff offices, reception area and storage space along with necessary changes to meet ADA requirements.
The new addition included open floor plans to function as a museum and basement for art storage.
Project had great significance to NCSU and project funding efforts had been a main focus for many years.
Project was located on property belonging to NC State and City of Raleigh, therefore both entities were involved including the City’s Pullen Park division, resulting in
extensive design modifications and open communication among all parties.
